Beneficiaries

and Target

Groups

Ethiopia has one of the largest populations of orphans in the world: 13 percent of children throughout the country are missing one or both parents. This represents an estimated 4.6 million children.

YeKolo Temari Foundation will target children living in rural areas and the children of poor farmers, who have chosen to take on the difficult journey of pursuing traditional Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo education. We want to help and nurture these children, as their biggest desire is to be disciples of Jesus Christ. This help will be provided in two ways:

Onsite - at YeKolo Temari Foundation complex support students by providing them with a place to live, meals, school materials, healthcare, and a four-year traditional Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo education program at the YeKolo Temari Foundation complex in Chegel/Debre Libanos by certified Ethiopian Orthodox Memher.

Offsite - support hundreds of students that are in Abinet Timhertbet or taught by local priests (Yenetas) by paying salaries and supplying the students with food, books, and clothing once or twice a year.

Business Revenue Model

The YeKolo Temari Foundation will establish several contribution options for potential donors (it costs our foundation $25/month to sponsor a child):

Donations

Donors can give a one-time gift in money form, cloth, religious books, or food supplies.

Cash Donations

Individuals can sponsor a child for as little as $25/ month.

Fundraising Events

Businesses are also encouraged to participate in the YeKolo Temari Foundation fundraising events that take place once a year. These events include breakfast/dinner events, or 5K walks.

Business Sponsorships

Businesses can provide cash or grants. While gifts and Business Sponsorships are projected to remain static (in the financial plan), we anticipate that child sponsorships will increase Year Over Year.

Our Advantages

YeKolo Temari Foundation has several advantages it can offer the donor community and the people it servers. The non-profit organization’s advantages include:

  • Laser-focused purpose - The reason for our foundation is extremely specific.

  • A unique donor opportunity - Faith-based donors know that their gifts will go to help further the gospel of Christ being spread throughout Ethiopia.

  • Strict Educational Guidelines - YeKolo Temari Foundation will have policies on student’s absenteeism. School attendance will be taken to ensure the supported students are attending and accomplishing what is expected.

  • Controlled Oversight of the Program - The country representative will be travelling on a scheduled basis to different locations where the YeKolo Temari Foundation is providing its services to ensure students are attending their school, paid teachers are performing their assigned duties and verify that each student’s needs are met so that they succeed in their educational pursuits.

  • Failure to adhere to the attendance policy could result in a student losing the Foundation's support.
